Fish

Seventeen species of fish have been recorded from the rivers and ditches on or adjacent to the reserve. Most are confined to the rivers though minnow, 3-spined stickleback and occasionally pike are seen in the ditches. These also occur commonly in the rivers along with chubb, roach, perch, gudgeon, eel and bullhead. Bream and stone loach can be regularly seen, also brown trout, especially in summer when the Thames is low.
